The Cross Lever's pivot can be placed in two different positions giving it the leverage of a short pull or long pull brake lever.

Short pull brake levers have less leverage than long pull brake levers and are intended only for use with short pull brakes such as side pull caliper brakes, cantilever brakes, brakes and mini-v brakes.

Long pull brake levers are intended only for use with long pull brakes such as linear pull brakes, v-brakes and cable-actuated disk brakes.

Product Story

By routing your existing brake cable and housing from your drop levers through the Cross Lever, you can have two sets of brake levers that allow you to control your speed from multiple hand positions.

The Cross Lever can also be used on its own: Just let the head of brake cable sit in the recess for the housing on the outside of the lever.

The Cross Lever fits onto the thicker stem clamp area of handlebars, and a hinged clamp allows for installation without needing to strip your bar tape. A barrel adjuster makes it easy to fine tune your cable tension.

Fully CNC’d construction gives them a solid feel in the hand, and they are designed to work with any kind of brake. The Cross Lever is both a Short Pull and a Long Pull lever, depending upon the position of the adjustable pivot.

The levers come with their pivot pins in the hole closest to the handlebar. This location is for short pull brakes: road calipers, center pull cantilever brakes, like our Racer, Racer Medium, Neo-Retro, and Touring Canti, and road mechanical disc brakes, like the short-pull Klamper.

Moving the pivot pin to the outer hole makes the levers compatible with long pull brakes, like our Motolites and the long-pull version of the Klamper.

This lever is currently available in only 31.8mm clamp diameter.

It’s no secret our water bottles are made in the U It’s no secret our water bottles are made in the USA by @specialized_custom and it’s also no secret we’re passionate about recycling around here. Well, they just started offering a couple new bottles made entirely from 100% recycled material. While we aren’t crazy about putting more plastic out in the world, it may as well be 100% recycled AND recyclable, so we’re offering this option in our Dune Buggy bottle, in this Teal color. Soooo…. Happy Friday! Paul designed our first seatpost (th Happy Friday! Paul designed our first seatpost (the “Tall & Handsome”) with 26mm of setback to accommodate Brooks saddles, and while it’s become a cult classic, we’ve had requests for years now for something of the same high quality in a zero offset. We took the extra design time to dial in every feature WE want to see in a simple, reliable, beautiful seatpost, then machined it to our super high tolerances right here in Chico California. Head over to our website and get to know this elegant new family member, it’s in stock and shipping now!

Nope, we aren’t having a Black Friday sale. Making Nope, we aren’t having a Black Friday sale. Making everything ourselves, the hard way, in the U.S., means we don’t make giant margins we can chop in half for the sake of a trendy capitalist holiday. We charge what we have to, to pay our staff, keep the lights on, keep our old Toyotas running, and bring our aid station up to the mountains 3 times a year. We know our parts aren’t cheap, but they’re meant to be reliable, serviceable, and last a lifetime.
I mean, sure, we DO want you to buy our parts, but not because you’re bored, or want some kind of brand identity status, or just because it’s the biggest shopping day of the year.
We want you to buy our parts when you can afford it, and you’ve been riding your bike enough that you think it just might finally be time to invest in some components that you can rely on, service, and move from bike to bike. We’ll be here when you’re ready. But in the meantime, let’s delete our shopping cart and get out for a long ride on a nice day like this! ✌️
